Wahl des Betriebsrats für das wissenschaftliche Personal

der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien

am 19. und 20. November 2025

1. In den Betriebsrat sind 14 Mitglieder zu wählen.

2. Die Liste der aktiv Wahlberechtigten und ein Ausdruck der Betriebsratswahlordnung 1974 liegen ab 27. 10. 2025 im Büro des Betriebsrats für das wissenschaftliche Personal (im Gebäude AD, Erdgeschoß) zur Einsicht für alle an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien beschäftigten Arbeitnehmer*innen, die dem wissenschaftlichen Personal angehören, auf. Für eine Einsicht bitten wir um telefonische Voranmeldung (DW 5962).

3. Einwendungen gegen die Wähler*innenliste können von jedem*jeder im Betrieb beschäftigten wahlberechtigten Arbeitnehmer*in bis zum 4. 11. 2025 beim Vorsitzenden des Wahlvorstandes, Dr. Otto Janschek (E-Mail an otto.janschek@wu.ac.at) eingebracht werden. Verspätet eingebrachte Einwendungen bleiben unberücksichtigt.

4. Wahlvorschläge, welche die Wahlwerber*innen genau bezeichnen müssen, sind ab der Wahlkundmachung schriftlich bis 5. 11. 2025 bei einem Mitglied des Wahlvorstandes (siehe zu den Mitgliedern unten Punkt 12) einzureichen. Verspätet eingebrachte Wahlvorschläge bleiben unberücksichtigt. Jeder Wahlvorschlag muss ein Verzeichnis von höchstens doppelt so vielen Wahlwerber*innen, als Mitglieder des Betriebsrates zu wählen sind, enthalten. Ein Wahlvorschlag ist nur dann gültig, wenn er von mindestens 18 Arbeitnehmer*innen unterzeichnet ist. Dabei werden auf die erforderliche Anzahl von Unterschriften von Wahlwerber*innen nur bis zu einer Höhe von 9 angerechnet. Eine*r der Unterzeichner*innen des Wahlvorschlages ist als Vertreter*in desselben anzuführen. Der Wahlvorschlag ist mit einem Listennamen zu versehen.

5. Die zur Wahlhandlung zugelassenen Wahlvorschläge werden vom 14.11.2025 bis zum Ende der Stimmabgabe am zweiten Wahltag (20. 11. 2025, bis 16:00 Uhr) im Büro des Betriebsrats für das wissenschaftliche Personal (im Gebäude AD, Erdgeschoß) sowie an den beiden Wahltagen auch am Ort der Stimmabgabe zur Einsicht der Wahlberechtigten aufliegen.

6. Die Stimmabgabe findet an den folgenden zwei Wahltagen in der TC Hall und per Briefwahl statt:

7. Für die Stimmabgabe wird ein einheitlicher Stimmzettel aufgelegt.

8. Es sind nur jene Stimmen gültig, die für einen zur Wahlhandlung zugelassenen Wahlvorschlag abgegeben werden. Der Wahlvorschlag ist am Stimmzettel anzukreuzen bzw. auf eindeutige Weise zu kennzeichnen oder durch Angabe eines oder mehrerer Wahlwerber*innen zu bezeichnen. Die Stimmabgabe erfolgt in der Weise, dass der*die Wähler*in in der Wahlzelle den ausgefüllten Stimmzettel in einen leeren, unbeschrifteten Umschlag gibt. Dieser wird anschließend vor dem/der Wahlleiter*in ungeöffnet in die Wahlurne gelegt.

9. Beantragung Briefwahl: Wahlberechtigte, die bis zum 22.10.2025 der Personalabteilung bekanntgegeben haben, dass sie an den Wahltagen wegen Urlaub, Karenz, Leistung des Ausbildungs-, Präsenz- oder Zivildienstes, einer noch bestehenden Krankheit, infolge der Ausübung ihres Berufes oder anderer wichtiger ihrerPerson betreffende Gründe an der persönlichen Stimmabgabe verhindert sind, erhalten automatisch eine Wahlkarte und müssen diese nicht gesondert beantragen. Zusätzlich wird auch allen anderen Wahlberechtigten die Möglichkeit geboten, mittels Briefwahl von ihrem Wahlrecht Gebrauch zu machen. Dazu muss ein Antrag auf Ausstellung einer Wahlkarte beim Wahlvorstand unter folgendem Link:

gestellt werden. Der Antrag auf Ausstellung der Wahlkarte ist bis spätestens 11.11.2025 zu stellen.

10. Ablauf Briefwahl: Wird eine Wahlkarte ausgestellt, hat der*die Wahlberechtigte den ausgefüllten Stimmzettel in den vom Wahlvorstand persönlich ausgehändigten (Abholzeiten siehe unten) oder auf dem Postweg übermittelten Umschlag (Wahlkuvert), der keinerlei Aufschrift oder Zeichen tragen darf, die auf die Person des*der Wähler*in schließen lassen, zu geben, diesen Umschlag geschlossen in das beiliegende Retourkuvert zu legen und dieses sodann verschlossen im Postwege (auch per Hauspost) dem Wahlvorstand zu übermitteln. Die Einsendung hat so zeitgerecht zu erfolgen, dass das Wahlkuvert spätestens am 20.11.2025, 16:00 Uhr beim Wahlvorstand einlangt. Ohne Wahlkarte oder verspätet eingelangte Stimmzettel sind ungültig. Auch nach Ausstellung einer Wahlkarte bleibt der*die Wahlberechtigte zur persönlichen Stimmabgabe berechtigt; doch nur wenn er*sie die ihm*ihr ausgestellte Wahlkarte (Retourkuvert) dem Wahlvorstand übergibt. Wahlkarten können zu folgenden Zeiten im Büro des wissenschaftlichen Betriebsrats persönlich abgeholt werden:

Announcement

Election of the Academic Staff Council

at the Vienna University of Economics and Business

on November 19 and 20, 2025

1. 14 members are to be elected to the Academic Staff Council.

2. The list of eligible voters and a printout of the 1974 Works Council Election Regulations are available for inspection from 27. 10. 2025 in the office of the Academic Staff Council (in building AD, ground floor) for all employees of the Vienna University of Economics and Business who belong to the academic staff. To view the list, please call ahead to make an appointment (extension 5962).

3. Objections to the list of voters may be submitted by any employee employed by WU who is eligible to vote until 04. 11. 2025 to the chairman of the election committee, Dr. Otto Janschek (è email to otto.janschek@wu.ac.at). Objections submitted after this date will not be considered.

4. Nominations, which must clearly identify the candidates, must be submitted in writing to a member of the election committee (see point 12 below for the members) by 05. 11. 2025, following the announcement of the election. Nominations submitted after this date will not be considered. Each nomination must contain a list of no more than twice as many candidates as there are members to be elected to the staff council. A nomination is only valid if it is signed by at least 18 employees. However, only up to 9 signatures from candidates will be counted toward the required number of signatures. One of the signatories of the nomination must be listed as its representative. The nomination must be given a list name.

The election proposals approved for the election will be displayed from 14. 11. 2025, until the end of voting on the second election day (20. 11. 2025, until 4:00 p.m.) in the office of the Academic Staff Council (in building AD, ground floor) and, on both election days, also at the polling station for inspection by those eligible to vote.

6. Voting will take place on the following two election days and by postal vote:

7. A standard ballot paper will be used for voting.

8. Only those votes cast for an election proposal that is eligible for election are valid. The election proposal must be marked on the ballot paper with a cross or in a clear manner, or by indicating one or more candidates. Votes are cast by the voter placing the completed ballot paper in an empty, unmarked envelope in the voting booth. This envelope is then placed unopened in the ballot box in front of the election officer.

9. Application for Postal voting: Voters who informed the personnel office before 23.10.2025 that they are prevented from casting their vote in person on election days due to vacation, parental leave, military or civil service, an ongoing illness, resulting from their occupation or other important personal reasons will receive a ballot card in any case and do not need to apply for one separately. In addition, all other eligible voters are given the opportunity to exercise their right to vote by means of postal voting. To do so, an application for issuance of a voting card must be submitted to the election committee at the following link: https://short.wu.ac.at/Wahlkartenantrag_wissBR

The application for a postal ballot must be submitted by 11. 11. 2025 at the latest.

10. Postal voting process: If a voting card is issued, the eligible voter must place the ballot paper in the envelope (ballot envelope) handed over in person by the election committee (collection times see below) or sent by post, which must not bear any inscription or mark that could identify the voter, then place this closed envelope in the mailing envelope (voting card), and then send it sealed by mail (including internal WU-mail) to the election committee. The ballot must be sent in good time so that the ballot envelope reaches the election committee by 4:00 p.m. on 20. 11. 2025 at the latest. Ballot papers without a voting card or received late are invalid. Even after a voting card has been issued, the eligible voters remain entitled to cast their vote in person, but only if they hand in the voting card (mailing envelope) issued to them to the election committee. Voting cards can be picked up in person at the Academic Staff Council office at the following collection times:
