CEMS Career Forum 2015

The annual Career Forum is the biggest recruitment event of the CEMS year. CEMS students and Corporate Partners from all over the world are given the opportunity to network through roughly 25 Skill Seminars, 12 company presentations, a job fair with 40 exhibition stands and over 600 pre-scheduled interviews.

The 2015 edition of the CEMS Career Forum in Vienna was held on the 6th and 7th of November on the campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). Over 1,100 students from across the 29 CEMS partner schools and 300 representatives of CEMS Corporate Partners were in attendance.

Corporate Partners are provided the ideal chance to meet, interact with and interview potential hires from the CEMS talent pool. Opportunities for corporate branding, promoting employment opportunities, and knowledge sharing with academic representatives from the 29 member schools is also provided through networking events such as the Networking Cocktail. The Speed-Networking Meeting with CEMS schools allows Corporate Partner representatives to meet and explore new collaboration opportunities in every corner of the globe where CEMS operates.

For students and young graduates, the CEMS Career Forum offers a rare opportunity to meet with recruiters from top multinational companies. Beyond multinational corporations, the job fair also has the “Start-up Corner”, a group of stands dedicated to ventures created by CEMS alumni. The Start-up Corner offers CEMS students interested in entrepreneurship and other business ventures a wealth of information and knowledge sharing.

As a yearly event, the CEMS Career Forum continues to grow and evolve each year. In addition to staples of the forum, such as walk-in and prescheduled interviews, skill seminars, company presentations and the job fair, this year marked the introduction of several “Career Training Workshops”. These workshops involving social media training and interview preparation are meant to help students and recent graduates improve their opportunity search and career progress.

Furthermore, the CEMS Club Vienna organized the Career Forum Gala, which gave the entire CEMS community a throwback to the Roaring Twenties: With tightened suspenders, cut cigars and finest cocktail attire students and corporate representatives spent a great night together and celebrated life! The Gala represented a perfect end of the Career Forum weekend.

"The Student Board Representatives and Presidents of all CEMS Clubs worldwide met in Istanbul from September 22-28. Part of the preparation task was to create a video about our university and the CEMS Club - what is happening this semester and what are the challenges we currently face."

2012 and 2013 CEMS Career Forum in Budapest

For 17 years, the CEMS alliance has been running its annual career forum, which was hosted in Budapest (2013-2009), Paris (2008), Milan (2007). Whether you are a student or an alumnus/a, a corporate partner representative or an academic, the 2-day event offers a dedicated platform to make meaningful connections. The Career Forum concept furthermore offers pre-scheduled interviews with the corporate partners which complement traditional company exhibition stands and presentations. On the day prior to the job fair, students and corporate partners were also able to interact via MIM-accredited skill seminar opportunities. These represented a one-off chance for CEMS Corporate Partners to share knowledge with a truly international group of students, who in return had a great opportunity to meet the academic requirements of the programme and to learn from business professionals.
