Gemäß Kollektivvertrag können nur eAssistent/inn/en aufgenommen werden, die ein für die in Betracht kommende Verwendung vorgesehenes Master-(Diplom-)Studium noch nicht abgeschlossen haben. Wir weisen darauf hin, dass der WU-Personalentwicklungsplan für eAssistent/inn/en eine maximale Befristungsdauer von zwei Jahren vorsieht.



Aufgabengebiet:

2) Im Institut für Österreichisches und Internationales Steuerrecht ist voraussichtlich ab 01.07.2018 für die Dauer von vier Jahren

eine Stelle für einen Universitätsassistenten/eine Universitätsassistentin prae doc (Teaching and Research Associate)

Wir weisen darauf hin, dass der WU-Personalentwicklungsplan für Universitätsassistent/inn/en prae doc eine maximale Befristungsdauer von sechs Jahren vorsieht. Aufgabengebiet:
- Mitwirkung in der Forschung auf dem Gebiet des Steuerrechts unter der Führung der Professoren Lang, Rust, Schuch, Staringer, Pistone, Storck und Owens
- Verfassen einer steuerrechtlichen Dissertation
- Mitwirkung im Lehrbetrieb und bei Aufgaben des Forschungsmanagements

Die Forschungsschwerpunkte des Instituts liegen in den Bereichen Internationales Steuerrecht und Unternehmenssteuerrecht.

3) The Institute for Information Management and Control is currently inviting applications for a 20 hours/week Teaching and Research Assistant postion (employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; minimum gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 1,000.80). This employee position will be limited to a period of two years, starting on August 1, 2018 (commencement date subject to change).

Pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, only students who have not yet completed a master or diploma degree program can be employed. Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, student employee positions are limited to an employment period of not more than two years.

This substitute employee position will be limited until September 30, 2019, starting on October 1, 2018 (commencement date subject to change).

Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, the position of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, is limited to an employment period of not more than six years. Applicants who are already employed at WU as substitute employees can therefore only be employed for the time remaining to complete the six-year period. Persons who have already been employed at WU in an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position cannot be re-employed in this position at WU (except as a substitute employee) due to legal restrictions.

About the Institute
The Institute for Sociology and Social Research is committed to studying the relations between economy and society from integrative sociological, socioeconomic and political-economic perspectives. Research and teaching at the Institute focuses on economic sociology, quantitative and qualitative social research, sociological theory, organisational analysis, social inequality, and sustainable development. The Institute is affiliated with the Department of Socioeconomics, which combines several social-scientific disciplines complementing the WU's major focus on business and economics as well as business law, and which is dedicated to interdisciplinary research highlighting the economy's embeddedness in society and nature.

Area of Responsibility
- Individual research in, or at the intersection of, sociological theory, macrosociology (with an emphasis on transnational processes), and economic sociology
- Preparation of and/or participation in collaborative research projects (to be) affiliated with the Institute
- Publication activity targeting an international scientific audience and aiming for high impact
- Teaching load of 4 hours per semester
- Teaching responsibilities include a course on 'Organisations and Institutions' in the Master's Programme Socioeconomics (to be taught in German) and a course in 'Economic Sociology' in the Bachelor's Programme in Economics and Social Sciences (to be taught in English); this requires specific expertise in structuralist and constructivist perspectives on economy and society, such as field theory, discourse theory, cultural political economy, sociological neo-institutionalism, and the economy of conventions
- Independent supervision of Bachelor theses (obligatory) and Master's theses (optional) in German and English, which may focus on a wide range of topics
- Administrative responsibilities, such as the organisation of academic workshops and research seminars
- Since this position partly compensates for a research sabbatical of the professor in charge of economic sociology (Prof. Frerichs), a high degree of professional experience and self-reliance is expected

Your Profile
- Doctoral degree in sociology
- A strong research interest in sociological theory, comparative macrosociology (with an emphasis on transnational processes), and economic sociology, which should be evident in published as well as ongoing work
- Experience in teaching and supervision on Bachelor and Master's levels in German and English
- Experience with working in collaborative research projects or networks, preferably in the above mentioned research areas
- Experience with fund-raising for individual or collaborative research projects
- Proven versatility in your research, teaching and supervision activities will be regarded as an asset
- A competitive publication record, including publications with international publishers (monographs) and/or in international peer-reviewed journals
- High academic proficiency in German and English (C2, written and spoken)
