"The program’s data-based, research-oriented approach gave me the confidence to develop solutions that provide added value for global communities. My role is centered on owning the Uber customer experience as well as customer support structure for DACH. This includes managing the overall operations, footprint strategy, channel strategy, content strategy, automation, compliance as well as implementing scaled operational processes and tooling. The role combines all these facets as well as managing stakeholder relationships across the broader business (e.g. classic marketing, operations, vendor management, legal, communications). The MSc Marketing program was the ideal program to become comfortable working under high pressure in an international environment with an array of cross-functional stakeholders. What I find most useful in my day-to-day, is the critical thinking as well as the analytical approach I have acquired through the master’s program."
Paul Michalitsch, Customer Strategy and Operations Manager at Uber, Berlin, Germany

Moreover, it lies within my responsibilities to ensure the right brand image and communication methods. During the MSc Marketing program, I was not only equipped with strong analytical skills but also with a creative mindset that allows me to generate out-of-the-box ideas.”

"WU's MSc in Marketing ideally prepared me for my position at Global Management Services Ltd. in Hong Kong, which is a garment sourcing company that belongs to the Peek & Cloppenburg Group. The MSc Marketing program helped me to develop a truly customer-centric view. Moreover, the international orientation of the program gave me the confidence to perform and succeed in those international and intercultural sourcing and sales markets my company is operating in. Lastly, during the MSc Marketing program we had plenty of opportunities to showcase our work in front of our project partners, who very often were CEOs or CMOs of renowned companies. This was the perfect training for my regular exposure to the board members, which is an integral part of my job."

Specializing in research-oriented courses will give you the necessary skills to launch an academic career in the exciting and challenging field of marketing.
"The most valuable asset I gained from the program was the opportunity to learn from one of the leading European faculties in the field of marketing. It reshaped my understanding of marketing and opened my eyes to academia. The strong research orientation and the diversity of the curriculum made me realize that the field was even more challenging than I previously assumed and it expanded my horizons to an entirely new set of career options."
Filipe Sengo Furtado, Research & Teaching Associate and PhD candidate in Quantitative Marketing, Institute for Marketing & Customer Analytics at WU Vienna
"Studying marketing at WU was one of the best decisions in my life. It enabled me to gain deep insights into all domains of marketing: marketing research, marketing communications, branding, consumer behavior, service and tourism marketing and many more. I particularly appreciated the fact that so many world-class scholars teach a very limited number of highly motivated students, which creates a fantastic working environment and learning process. All these components have prompted me to go deeper into the topic by enrolling in a PhD program at the University of Klagenfurt. Very soon, I taught the first courses in consumer behavior myself. The MSc in Marketing at WU has really opened doors for me and I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to do their career in marketing."
Andrea Ettinger, formerly: Research and Teaching Assistant & Project Assistant, Department of Marketing and International Management at University of Klagenfurt; currently: Senior Human Resources Specialist at Infineon Technologies
What future employers say
"Personality is about not relying on the applause of the crowd. And marketing is all about personality. All of today’s major brands were created by great personalities. One of WU’s strengths is that it not only imparts knowledge, but also creates real marketing personalities. I know, because I’ve met some of them.”
Hermann Simon, Honorary Chairman and Founder, Simon-Kucher & Partners, Strategy and Marketing Consultants
"Zino Davidoff once claimed: ‘I didn’t do marketing – I just loved my customers’. He knew that it takes the right attitude to create a superbrand. Despite Davidoff’s tongue-in-cheek comment, his brand’s rise to fame is a testimonial to the success of effective marketing. Managing brands in today’s dynamic business environment requires the perfect combination of attitude and professional expertise. WU’s MSc program in Marketing provides tomorrow’s top marketing professionals with up-to-date knowledge and cutting-edge skills.”
