| Application period for the 2026/27 winter semester: The rolling admissions schedule comprises three application deadlines. The earlier you apply, the sooner you’ll know if you receive a place in the program. |
To begin the application process for the MSc programs, you will need to submit the completed online application form and all necessary documents as PDF files in original language. Please note that any documents issued in a language other than German or English must be submitted accompanied by a certified translation. Check the legibility of your PDF files before submitting the application.

If you have already completed your relevant first degree program: Degree certificate
Official transcripts of all courses passed within the relevant first degree program, including grades, weekly hours and/or ECTS credits or credits. Please read carefully through our Information about evaluation
Information provided by your university about the legally required duration of the program and the number of ECTS credits or credits or weekly hours required for the completion of the program (e.g. Diploma Supplement or confirmation issued by your university, WU students are not required to provide this information).
Official confirmation indicating all courses you still have to pass for completion of the program. The confirmation has to indicate the weekly hours and/or ECTS credits or credits required for each course (for WU students not required)
Passport (only the page with your personal information)
In case of change of name after completion of the first degree program: the document proofing this change (e.g. marriage certificate)
Statement of motivation (400-600 words) including the following topics:
Motivation for studying BizComm: At what point did you realize you were interested in pursuing an education in business communication? Why did you then choose to apply for Bizcomm instead of other business or communication programs? Did you approach this decision by looking at WU programs first and then choosing BizComm, or did you know you were interested in (business) communication and then looked to see what universities were offering such programs?
Relevant academic and practical experience: how does your academic background and your practical (professional and voluntary) experience qualify you for studying BizComm? Make sure to specify the relevant experience by referring to items listed in your CV!
Future career plans: What do you want to do after completing BizComm? Based on the curriculum, what are the specific skills and competencies you expect to acquire and master in the program that will help you achieve these goals, and why do you think they would be important?
Curriculum vitae in English (without photograph).
Make sure to explicitly outline the following:Academic experience
Specify one class in your previous studies that you feel gave you the best foundation for continuing education in business communication
List any courses, certificates, etc. that you completed in addition to your main studies
Professional experience
List ALL positions you have held so far, specifying duration and extent of the respective employment
Any extracurricular experience that has helped define you as a person
Here, you are expected to give us an insight into what you have done besides studying and working – this can include such things as volunteering activities, any hobbies to which you dedicate a certain amount of your free time, or anything you believe helps you stand out from the field
Letter of Recommendation
Please include a personalized letter of recommendation from one of the following: A course instructor, academic advisor, or thesis supervisor from your previous studies, or a work supervisor from a job or internship where you gained relevant experience for this master’s program. The letter should highlight your academic or professional potential and achievements. Please note: The letter of recommendation should be an official document, including an official header, the recommender’s name, institutional/organizational email address, and, if applicable, a signature or stamp.

These transcripts must be stamped and signed or bear a verifiable digital signature from your university. Please note that we only consider relevant courses from a recognized post-secondary educational institution. If the university/institution does not use the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), we require official information regarding the legally required duration of the program and the number of credits or weekly hours necessary for program completion. |
Selection Interview & Online Assessment
Those applicants who fulfill the minimum requirements and show promising potential will be invited to take part in two online tasks: one, a group interview, and two, a set of questions to be answered orally as well as in writing. Particular attention will be paid to language, communication, and social skills as well as international orientation.
Applicants will receive an email with all the details - date, time and how to join – well in advance. Please note that any costs incurred for participating in the selection process are non-refundable.
The applicants with the highest total aptitude ratings will be offered admission to the program selected as their first or highest preference. To claim your place, you must confirm the admission offer in writing and pay the admission deposit in the amount of € 200 within 10 days. If you don’t complete both steps within this timeframe, the offer will be withdrawn and passed on to the next person on the waiting list after the final priority deadline.
Once you’ve accepted the offer and paid the deposit, you’ll receive your official admission confirmation.
| Double Degree Program with Tilburg University WU’s double degree program with Tilburg University is a great opportunity to broaden your international network and deepen your expertise in business communication.To indicate your interest in the double degree with Tilburg University, please tick the box for the double degree option in the application form. You can only apply for the double degree with Tilburg University after you’ve successfully completed the standard application and selection process for the Master’s Program in Business Communication.As part of the double degree application, you’ll need to submit a short video in English in addition to the application documents specified above. You’ll receive detailed instructions for the video submission by email after the final round of application and selection deadlines—this will be around June 2026. Please note: The application for our second double degree with BI Norwegian Business School follows a different application process. Please find more information on this on our website. |
