Professor Amitava Dutt
(U. Notre Dame)
Thema des Vortrages:
"Consumption and happiness: microeconomic versus macroeconomic approaches"
A phenomenon observed in many affluent countries, of increasing consumption without significant increases in happiness, broadly defined, has been widely discussed in recent years. Numerous explanations for the phenomena have been offered, which can be classified into microeconomic and macroeconomic ones. The two approaches will be distinguished and compared. It will be argued that although both approaches make interesting contributions, they are both incomplete, and require to be synthesized to obtain a fuller understanding of this important phenomenon.

The Adult Social Care Outcome Toolkit (ASCOT) provides a variety of techniques to capture the outcomes of such services. The ASCOT measure is intended to provide a utility index that reflects eight domains of social care related quality of life.
