Max Hoffmann

Max comes from Germany. He is currently finishing a research master program in Multidisciplinary Economics at Utrecht University. During his bachelor’s studies in Sociology, Politics and Economics, with a minor in Economics, he developed a strong and lasting interest in tax policy – especially its relationship to economic inequality. In his master’s program he deepened his knowledge of public economics and acquired a toolkit for economic analysis with a focus on econometric methods. He has taught bachelor’s students in econometrics and gathered research experience during a research assistantship at Utrecht University as well as during an internship at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI). An internship at the German embassy in Slovenia gave him an insight into working at a political institution. However, he discovered that the academic world is much more appealing to him. So, he is very much looking forward to starting his doctoral studies in International Business Taxation at WU. As a hobby, Max likes playing the guitar, playing football and going to the cinema.
