We are looking for ambitious, curious students with outstanding academic record who are eager to pursue a career in marketing. If that sounds like you, our top-ranked MSc Marketing is the right program for you.
In order to apply for the MSc in Marketing you have to fulfill all the requirements for application. If one or more of the required documents are not provided, your application will be rejected.
Minimum requirements for application
1. Relevant bachelor's degree
You need to have completed or be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program at a recognized Austrian or foreign post-secondary institution which meets the following criteria:
The program comprises at least 180 ECTS credits (corresponding to three academic years).
45 ECTS credits have to be earned by passing exams in the field of business administration.
Please note: The requirements listed above have to be documented by the uploaded documents (e.g., transcripts, diploma supplement, university confirmations, etc.). It is not necessary to have completed the relevant degree program at the time of application. The proof of completion of your degree program is required for the actual enrollment.

1) The weighted grade point average (GPA) of all exams completed as part of the relevant WU study program (GPA of 2.5 or lower) at the time of application. WU students can download the GPA confirmation as a PDF (see Tools & Services).
If their GPA is above 2.5, WU graduates can still apply for the MSc Marketing program by submitting a GMAT with a total score of at least 500.
2) A letter of recommendation written in English by a course teacher, an advisor or supervisor of an academic thesis, or the educational institution at which the course or courseswere attended or the academic thesis was written, detailing your achievement potential.
A valid GMAT score of minimum 500 points has to be uploaded by the applicant already during the application process. Please make sure to upload your GMAT result in the correct form required by WU. For more information, please check the website of WU's Admission Office here.
WU must be selected as a “Score Report Recipient” when taking the GMAT. Only then WU will receive GMAT score reports directly from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and have access to the website or portal of third parties to view the GMAT scores of applicants.
Please allow enough time for GMAT test registration and evaluation. The official confirmation of your result, which you must upload, takes up to twenty days.
All applications without a valid GMAT score will be rejected. Only WU alumni can provide a valid GPA score (2.5 or lower) instead.
GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is not accepted.
3. Sufficient proficiency in English
You need to provide a proof of level C1 or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Note that only one of the listed options needs to apply:
English as your native language
Full bachelor's program done in English (university confirmation required)
Full master's program done in English (university confirmation required)
A valid certificate (official or unofficial test report): TOEFL iBT 100 or higher, TOEFL IBT Home Edition 100 or higher, IELTS 7.0 or higher (academic or online indicator version), Cambridge English: CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) or BEC Higher (Business English Certificate Higher), UNIcert III
A certificate from a university language center confirming the applicant has achieved level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.The certificate has to prove that you took one or more tests to assess your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. These skills should correspond to level C1 or higher according to the CEFR. Course transcripts or confirmations about your overall language skills or certain language courses will not be accepted as proof of your language skills. If you are not sure whether your language certificate fulfills these criteria, please submit one of the standardized tests mentioned above.
Graduates of WU’s Bachelor's Program in Business and Economics, Bachelor's program in Business Law and Bachelor's Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences already fulfill this requirement.

Application and enrollment procedure
To apply for the MSc Marketing program, you can choose between 3 priority deadlines:

Priority deadlines I and II do not have a waiting list. You can only be put on the waiting list if you apply within priority deadline III. Further information on the three priority deadlines and the rolling admissions schedule can be found here.
How often can I apply?
You can apply before priority deadline I and, if you don't get in, you can apply again before priority deadline III (which is the only priority deadline with a waiting list). This increases your chances of receiving an admission offer.
|Information for international applicants (third-country nationals)|
|We strongly advise third-country nationals to apply before the 1st priority deadline at the beginning of October. Austrian visa procedures are complex and demanding so the visa process should be started as early as possible if you are accepted to the MSc Marketing. Please note that WU cannot assist students in obtaining a visa.|
