Application for Master's students

Current enrollment in a WU Master's program

Step 1: Complete the application form (will be available on the ISP website) during the application period

Step 2: Indicate your program preferences. Depending on the course offer, you may choose multiple partner university programs (with nomination), as well as the International Summer University WU (only applicable in summer). However, you can also select just one program preference. Please keep in mind that if you are selected, you will only be offered a spot in one program.

Step 3: Upload your application documents (CV, current WU transcript, supporting documents).

Step 4: Submit your application before the deadline.

The following documents have to be submitted during the online application process:

• CV in English

• Current transcript of records (Sammelzeugnis) from your Master’s program

• Supporting documents if deemed necessary

For Master's students, there will be no interviews. Selection will be based solely on the written application. Students will be selected based on the following criteria: 

• Overall quality and completeness of the application

• Motivation and interest in gaining academic experience abroad

• Alignment of program preferences with academic and career goals

• Relevance of the exchange experience to the student’s current master’s program

• Realistic expectations about the exchange experience

• Please note: During the selection process, priority will be given to students who have not completed an exchange semester during their master studies and who are not nominated to participate in an exchange semester. 

• If applicants have the same total scores, the exchange place will be randomly assigned. 

• For ISPs with nomination, cancellation of an allocated spot is only possible in exceptional cases (e.g., illness, pregnancy, crucial family commitments, or unforeseen serious events). Proof will be required. If you are facing such circumstances, please immediately contact the ISP team at spwu@wu.ac.at.

• Note that canceling without a valid cause (see above) excludes you from participating in any further WU exchange programs during your current study cycle.
