EGOS 2025

13. Juli 2025

Social Reception and Book Launch

In her role as a founding member of the EGOS Standing Working Group (SWG) on “Pushing the Boundaries of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Theorizing Transformative Change in Organizations”, Laura Dobusch organized a social reception together with Alexander Fleischmann (IMD) for the participants of this year’s sub-theme “EDI in Difficult Times: Organizing Solidarity beyond Opposition and Resistance” and EGOS supporters of the SWG more generally.

The reception was organized at the Impact Hub Athens which facilitates social innovation and community building through entrepreneurship. The social reception started with a warm welcome by the SWG members and was followed by the discussion of the newly published book on “On Practicing Diversity: Organizational Worldmaking through Exploration, Experimentation, and Engagement” by Maddy Janssens (KU Leuven) and Chris Steyaert (University of St. Gallen). Between Maddy Janssens and Inge Bleijenbergh (Radboud University) an interesting conversation developed on the core topics of the book, in particular on what a practice-theoretical perspectives on diversity, equity and inclusion can help us see differently and how it affects possibilities of organizational change when we don’t start with the individual person but social practices as such.

Next year’s sub-theme organized by the SWG at EGOS 2026 will be on “Mobilization for – and against – a more just, equitable and inclusive world: The role of social movements, activists and change agents within and around organizations”. More info follows soon on EGOS website. If you want to be kept in the loop on the EGOS DEI SWG activities, please send an email to Laura Dobusch.
