SIMC Students score 2nd Place in Henkel Innovation Challenge

01. April 2015

David Dömötör and Janos Halasz, students from the Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control Master Program finished 2nd in the Austrian national round of the Henkel challenge.

The Henkel Innovation Challenge is a world-wide competition for university students to come up with an innovative and sustainable product concept for 2050. Participants also need to develop the matching business model aligned with a marketing plan and market-entry strategy for their product idea.

The Team created a concept of a new laundry product – the Persil BluePod – for the year 2050.  It is a washing pod which consists of a detergent, stain remover and a water filter. The concept is based on sustainability as the pod not only cleans clothes but also saves 90% of water, compared to benchmark.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christopher Lettl, Director of the Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization, coached the Team during the preparation of the innovative concept.
