Rupert Sausgruber is the Rector of WU and Professor of Public Economics. In his research, he investigates how new developments in Behavioral Economics promote our knowledge and understanding of Public Economics. His contributions demonstrate that behavioral considerations play a first-order role in an array of settings, including taxation, redistribution, the provision of public goods, voting, and tax compliance. Rupert Sausgruber has been visiting researcher at a range of institutions including the Department of Economics at the University of Copenhagen, the Office of Tax Policy Research at the University of Michigan, and Max Plank Institute for Research into Economic Systems in Jena. He has published in field journals such as the Journal of Public Economics and Experimental Economics as well as in general interest journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association and the European Economic Review. He is associate editor of the "Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics" and member of the Associate Editorial Panel at "International Tax and Public Finance".
