Admission Requirements

If you are interested in International Management / CEMS Program at Vienna University of Economics and Business, please familiarize yourself with all relevant information about application process, prerequisites and deadlines. You may use the application guide to ensure that your application process runs smoothly. 

IMPORTANT: The decision rights for which educational programs fulfill the basic requirements for programs offered at WU lie with WU’s admissions office. Please reach out to our colleagues for questions about the eligibility of specific courses or programs.

Online Application

All required documents have to be uploaded via the online application tool. The admission office then checks if the applications meet the formal criteria. Please bear in mind our application deadlines.

IMPORTANT: Priority deadline III does not apply for the International Management/CEMS program. Only the first two priority deadlines are available for this program, meaning that the final application deadline is January 8th (for 2023/24 intake).

LANGUAGES: Please note, that Language Admission Requirements are different from CEMS Graduation Requirements , you might be therefore requested to do additional language course or test during your studies.

EXCHANGE UNIVERSITY: While filling in your application form you will be required to indicate 10 preferences of the CEMS Partner Universities for your mandatory semester abroad. Please carefully consider the choice of ALL of your preferred exchange universities. It is it not possible to change your preferences after submitting your application. The allocation for the exchange university will be conducted once the admission process for both priority deadlines is completed.

Selection

Those applicants who fulfill the minimum requirements and prove a convincing achievement potential will be invited for an admission interview. Admission interviews for 2023 intake will take place online. The interviews are conducted in small groups and students will have to discuss a general business case (one hour of case preparation time will be given right before the interview). Candidates will also be asked about their motivation for the program and about their personal aspirations. The first round of interviews takes place in the end of November and the second round in mid-March.
