Business Education


Gradu­ates of the mas­ter's de­gree pro­gram in Busi­ness Edu­ca­tion are qual­i­fied to teach at busi­ness schools and to take vari­ous pos­i­tions in busi­ness pro­fes­sions. Over many years, our gradu­ates have shown to have ex­cel­lent job pro­spects in a vari­ety of in­ter­est­ing pro­fes­sional sect­ors such as Hu­man Res­sources, Ac­count­ing and Audit­ing, as well as Bank­ing and Fin­ance.

Teach­ing Lan­guage

Al­most all courses of this Mas­ter's de­gree are taught in Ger­man.

Qual­i­fic­a­tion pro­file

A num­ber of in­ter­est­ing pro­fes­sional fields are open to gradu­ates of the pro­gram. Car­reer op­por­tun­it­ies in­clude teach­ing pos­i­tions but also busi­ness pro­fes­sions. About 50% of all gradu­ates of the Mas­ter's pro­gram in Busi­ness Edu­ca­tion are em­ployed in teach­ing at busi­ness schools, while the other half has chosen to pur­sue ca­reers in busi­ness.

  • teach­ing at voca­tional middle or sec­ond­ary schools (e.g. com­mer­cial academies),

  • adult edu­ca­tion (e.g. as an in­structor or trainer),

  • cor­por­ate in-­house train­ing and per­son­nel devel­op­ment pro­grams,

  • fur­ther edu­ca­tion in the e-learn­ing sector,

  • edu­ca­tional man­age­ment and poli­cy-­mak­ing

  • con­sult­ing pro­fes­sions (e.g. tax con­sultancy, busi­ness con­sultancy)

Sub­jects and course con­tents in the Mas­ter's Pro­gram Busi­ness Edu­ca­tion

Di­dactics in eco­nomic sub­jects: Plan­ning, con­duct­ing and evalu­ation of teach­ing and learn­ing pro­cesses

Edu­ca­tion the­ory: Dif­fer­ent ap­proaches to edu­ca­tion the­ory

Elect­ives: Stu­dents can choose from dif­fer­ent elect­ives ac­cord­ing to in­di­vidual in­terests and strengths.

Teach­ing in­tern­ship: The Mas­ter's de­gree pro­gram in Busi­ness Edu­ca­tion in­cludes a teach­ing in­tern­ship at a voca­tional middle or sec­ond­ary school. The in­tern­ship is part of the fourth or fifth semester and has a max­imum dur­a­tion of 15 weeks.

Mas­ter's thesis: Be­fore com­ple­tion of the pro­gram, stu­dents are re­quired to write a Mas­ter's thesis worth 20 ECTS cred­its (roughly equi­val­ent to 500 work­ing hours).

De­gree: Mas­ter of Science (WU), ab­bre­vi­ated as: MSc (WU)

The pro­gram starts every Oc­to­ber with an assess­ment phase. The pos­it­ive com­ple­tion of this phase is the re­quire­ment to con­tinue the pro­gram. If the in­tro­duct­ory phase is marked neg­at­ive, it has to be re­peated one year later.
