• Curriculum vitae

• Letter of motivation with a detailed description of your research intentions abroad

• By the time of application, the research proposal and the supervisor's approval of the research proposal must already be submitted to the Doctoral Office

• Letter of recommendation from your thesis supervisor

• If applicable, proposed supervising professor at the host university

These international programs and networks are available to you if you are employed as a PhD or doctoral student at WU (WU academic staff):

• CEEPUS Faculty Mobility

• Erasmus+ Faculty Mobility

• Doctoral/PhD students working in relevant fields are eligible for a NEURUS grant allowing them to work on their dissertation at an international partner school abroad.

• NEURUS (Network of European and US Regional and Urban Studies) is a network of universities offering a structured program with exchange opportunities and academic supervision at selected US schools (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of California at Irvine).

• The one-year program consists of one semester at WU and one semester at the partner school abroad.

• The Marshall Plan Scholarship is an academic exchange program between Austria and the US. The cooperation with WU covers the PhD program Economic and Social Sciences and the Doctoral program Social and Economic Sciences.

• The prerequisite is a research project with a focus on technical sciences!

• Minimum stay: 3 months

• Funding: €4000 - €10.000

• 2 Calls per academic year (September-October; March-April).
  
  Applications are submitted via the International Office. Applications have to be handed in at the International Office. Please do so no later than the beginning of the application round. Only this way, applications can be forwarded in a timely manner!

• Mobility grants for doctoral/PhD candidates are intended as help to cover travel expenses and encourage mobility. Depending on the yearly budget, an amount of up to € 2000 per applicant may be granted.

• The mobility grand is managed by the Doctoral Office.
