There are usually waiting lists available for courses with required attendance (course types PI, VUE, FS, and AG).If a course is fully booked, you can sign up for a waiting list.

Important information:

• If parallel courses are available for one module and all of these courses are fully booked, you can sign up for multiple waiting lists in that module.

• As soon as you are assigned a place in a course that you were on the waiting list for, you will automatically be notified by email (to your WU mail account).

• As soon as you successfully sign up for or are admitted to a parallel course that belongs to the module in question, all other registrations will be cancelled out.

• Places on the waiting list are assigned either on a first-come, first-served basis or based on the student’s academic progress.

• → You can find more information on this subject in the course catalog under "Participation requirements" for the respective course.

• After expiry of the registration period, no more vacant places in courses will be assigned to students on waiting lists via the LPIS system. However, assignments based on academic progress are still possible.

Tip: Only sign up for waiting lists for courses that you really intend to take!

Please note: There is no access to the waiting list for students with concurrent enrolment and non-degree program students.

What takes precedence?

→ Waiting lists take precedence over the course exchange service!

Students without a fixed place will be given priority over those who already have a place in a parallel course and wish to exchange it.

Waiting lists and the course exchange service are managed separately, viz. there is no simultaneous consideration!

If you are already registered for a course, you can submit an exchange request during the registration period to indicate that you wish to swap places with someone in another parallel course.

This is how the course exchange service works

1. Exchanges are only possible for parallel courses within the same module.

2. As soon as the option "Exchange request possible" appears, you can click the “request”-button and indicate that you wish to swap places.

3. If there are free places available, you will immediately be signed up for the desired course and your original course registration will be cancelled automatically.

4. If you request an exchange for a course where there are no free places available, your request will remain active until an exchange is possible.

5. As soon as an exchange takes place, you will receive a notification to your WU email account.

6. If no exchange opportunities have become available by the end of the registration period, your initial registration will remain valid.
