Teaching Skills Certificate

Teaching Skills Certificate Icon

The WU Teaching Skills Certificate provides a structured framework for systematically developing, deepening, and documenting the core competencies required for high-quality university teaching, while enabling participants to demonstrate these competencies in a transparent and verifiable way.

The program focuses on practical questions arising from participants’ own teaching practice: How can courses be designed to foster student learning? How can assessments be made competency-based, fair, and transparent? How can instructors consciously develop their role as teachers—within their own courses, in complex teaching settings, or as members of teaching teams? The program combines topics in higher education pedagogy with practice-oriented input, collegial exchange, and structured reflection on participants’ own teaching.

The certificate consists of two tracks: a foundation program for prae docs and an advanced program for post docs and experienced lecturers.
