Research Data Management

Research data management (RDM) encompasses the responsible, transparent, and sustainable handling of research data throughout the entire research process. WU views RDM as an essential component of open, sustainable, and future-proof scholarship. The framework for RDM at WU is defined by the WU Policy on Research Data Management.

The information portal forschungsdaten.info offers a comprehensive overview of research data management topics across the entire data lifecycle, including the planning, organization, storage, and reuse of research data. It also provides specific information on RDM in Austria (in German language only).

The Library, Research Service Center, IT-SERVICES, and the Legal Affairs Office offer the following services to address questions regarding the responsible handling of research data:

AUSSDA – Austrian Social Science Data Archive

WU is a consortium member of the Austrian Social Science Data Archive (AUSSDA). The AUSSDA team supports researchers in preparing, curating, and making their research data available for the long term.

This ensures that quality-assured and well-documented datasets are available for reuse – for example, in teaching or for further research. This strengthens the research data infrastructure in Austria and promotes the visibility and reuse of research at WU.

If you have any questions about research data in AUSSDA, the WU data stewards are happy to assist you.
