PURE is the research information system of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). It is used to record, document, and make research activities visible. The data entered forms the basis for evaluations, reports, and analyses.

WU is legally required to systematically record and document research activities. Each researcher is responsible for the completeness and quality of the data they enter.

PURE system consists of two central components:

• the Back-End for entering, editing, and validating research information

• and the Front-End (WU Research) for public presentation

PURE is maintained and further developed at WU in cooperation with the following organizational units: Research Services, University Library, Controlling, and IT-Services.

PURE-Team WU

The PURE Team of the Library

• carries out quality assurance (workflow validation) for publication entries and research data records

• provides advice on Open Access and on uploading electronic full texts

• supports with the entry of metadata and the import of records from external scholarly literature databases (Scopus)

• provides information resources (manual)

• offers training program and, on request, individual consultations

• applies for a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for WU publications upon request
