• Completion of or enrollment in a relevant degree program at a recognized Austrian or foreign post-secondary institution. Prerequisites for the Master’s Program include:

  • The program must comprise at least 180 ECTS credits (corresponding to three academic years).

  • Business Administration and/or Economics, worth a minimum of 60 ECTS credits OR

  • Production Systems, and/or Logistics Systems, and/or Information and Communication Technologies, worth a minimum of 40 ECTS credits OR

  • Information Systems, worth a minimum of 40 ECTS credits OR

  • Mathematics and/or Statistics, worth a minimum of 40 ECTS credits OR

  • Geography, worth a minimum of 40 ECTS credits
    
    The Bachelor Programs in Business, Economics and Social Sciences (BAWISO) and Business and Economics (BBE) at Vienna University of Economics and Business fulfill the prerequisites.

  • Cambridge English: CAE (Certificate in Advanced English), CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), BEC Higher (Business English Certificate Higher)

  • UNIcert III

  • A full English-taught bachelor’s program (at least 3 years) or master’s program (at least 2 years); a confirmation from the university is required to prove that the program was taught in English. Please note that only an exchange semester or year in an English speaking country or with courses taught in English is not sufficient.

  • English as first language

  • C1-level certificate issued by a university language center, according to the Common European Framework of Reference  for Languages (CEFR). The certificate has to proof that you took one or more tests to assess your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. These skills should correspond to level C1 or higher according to the CEFR.

Course transcripts or confirmations about your overall language skills or certain language courses (such as those issued by the WU Vienna Department of Foreign Language Business Communication) will NOT be accepted as proof of your language skills. If you are not sure whether your language certificate fulfils these criteria, please submit one of the standardized tests mentioned above.

The application period always opens on September 1^st in the year prior to study start.

The three deadlines  are:

1st deadline: October 8th (23:59 CET)

2nd deadline: January 8th (23:59 CET)

3rd deadline: March 8th (23:59 CET)

IMPORTANT:
If you apply within priority deadline I and you are rejected, you can apply again in priority deadline II or III. If you apply within priority deadline II and you are rejected, you CANNOT apply again within priority deadline III. The reason is that you will only be notified of your rejection when priority deadline III is already over. To increase your chances of receiving an offer, you can apply within priority deadline I and, in case of rejection, you can apply again within priority deadline III (which is the only priority deadline with a waiting list).

ATTENTION INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS (third-country nationals)

We strongly advise third-country nationals to apply within priority deadline I, which ends at the beginning of October. Austrian visa procedures are complex and demanding. The visa process should be started as early as possible.

Eligible candidates score at least 90% at their universities grade point average.
