International Office

Tasks

Internationalization is one of WU Vienna's main strategic priorities. The majority of WU students gains international experience through a stay abroad at a partner university, through a double degree program, during an International Short Program or with an online exchange initiative.

The International Office reports to the Vice-Rector for Acadmic Programs and Student Affairs and is WU Vienna's central service unit for the coordination of international partnerships, networks, and programs.

Internationality and student mobility

Around 1,300 WU students gain valuable international experience abroad each year. At the same time, WU Vienna welcomes roughly the same number of incoming exchange students from around the world.

As International Office, we serve as the central point of contact for all these students. We provide comprehensive advice and information about their study abroad plans as well as various opportunities to internationalize their studies.

Together with the unit Student Recruitment & Admissions, we also support and assist international degree-seeking students at WU – from their arrival to a successful start in their studies.

Staff and faculty mobility

Mobility programs and networks, such as ERASMUS+, ENGAGE.EU, or CEEPUS are open to university faculty and staff. We highly encourage WU staff and faculty to spend time at a partner university in order to bring new impulses and innovation to WU Vienna.

International university networks and programs

WU Vienna gives its faculty and students access to a network of partner universities worldwide. The International Office is responsible for developing and supervising these international partnerships.

WU Vienna is a member of several networks, including:

CEMS, ENGAGE.EU, GBSNNEURUSPIMTHEMISCEEPUS

WU Vienna and its members are active participants in the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union (WU Erasmus+ Policy Statement & Erasmus Charter).
