Diversity in research and teaching

Gender and diversity research examines how gender relations and other aspects of diversity - e.g. ethnicity, class, religion, age, sexual orientation, disability, etc. - lead to hierarchies and exclusions in society and academia. At WU, the Institute Gender and Diversity in Organizations has been researching and teaching on these issues since 2002. Scientists at other institutes and research institutes have also been dealing with inequality relations for a long time (see, for example, Institutional and Heterodox EconomicsSociology and Empirical Social ResearchEducational ScienceInstitute for Economics of InequalityCompetence Center for Sustainability Transformation and Responsibility (STaR)). They all make an important contribution to a better understanding of how structural barriers systematically affect certain groups of people and how they can be removed.

Researcher of the Month

Since 2016, WU has chosen one researcher each month as Researcher of the Month. Here you will find a selection of researchers who, among other things, investigate diversity aspects in their research.
