Improving the compatibility of work or degree program and private life is a major concern at WU.

WU employees can find all important information on the topic of work-life balance on the intranet (for WU employees only).

WU would like to improve the work-life balance with the following offers, among others (excerpt):

  • There is a kindergarten on the Campus WU; in addition, WU offers childcare facilities at events, seminars, etc.

  • For children of WU employees between the ages of 6 and 10, WU has established a vacation childcare program in the summer and fall.

  • During parental leave, notebooks are made available to employees, and coaching is provided to make it easier for academic staff to return to work after parental leave. In addition, abz*austria's roadmap for parental leave management is available as an information platform for successful parental leave management.

  • A Dual Career Service provides support in reconciling dual careers.

  • Since 2013, WU has been working within the framework of the "hochschuleundfamilie" (university and family) audit to develop and implement measures to make WU an even more family-friendly university.

  • In order to better manage the organizational challenges of everyday work and family life, WU has provided recommendations for family-friendly scheduling and communication culture (WU Policy for Family-Friendly Work Culture - for WU employees only).
