Selection Procedure

Registration for the selection procedure for the German-taught bachelor’s program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences | 2022/23 academic year is now closed.

Details on the 2023/24 selection procedure will become available in early 2023.

Are you interested in pursuing the German-taught bachelor’s program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences at WU and starting this program during the 2022/23 academic year? If so, please register for the selection procedure.

The selection procedure is held once a year. If you pass the selection procedure, you will be able to enroll at WU and start this program in the 2022/23 winter semester or the 2023 summer semester. In the 2022/23 academic year, there are 2,703 available places.

In previous years there have usually been more applications than available study places, which is why we assume our two-step selection procedure will also come into effect this year. As soon as we know, we will inform you on this page and by e-mail. For more information on the selection procedure, please see the detailed information and our FAQ's below.

What happens after May 31, 2022?

We will send you an email a few days after May 31, 2022 to let you know whether or not you will have to do a an online Open Book Exam (see Step 2: online Open Book Exam).

In which case will the online Open Book Exam be necessary?

If more registered applicants complete the OSA (Step 1) by the deadline than there are places available, Step 2 of the selection procedure will also come into effect: the online Open Book Exam. If there are fewer applicants completing the OSA, the written assignment will not be necessary. In this case, you can enroll in the program for the desired semester (i.e., for the following winter or summer semester) during the enrollment period if you fulfill all formal admission requirements – for more information, please refer to our application guide.

Update, June 1, 2022:

Due to the number of OSAs completed by the deadline, Step 2 of the selection procedure will also be held: the online Open Book Exam.
