IMPORTANT information regarding Erasmus+ internship funding:

Funding will be available again from October 2026. Applications will only be accepted via application form.
Grants are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on available funding. Applications may be declined if funds are no longer available!
Due to budgetary restrictions, please note the following applies until further notice:
Students will only be able to apply for an intership abroad once per study cycle (e.g., bachelor's or master's degree).
Internships in the country of origin (= country of nationality) will not be funded.
All other internships will be funded for 2 months (regardless of the actual duration of the internship).
General information
Available for degree program students (bachelor and master) for a self-organized internship abroad.
The internship must take place in one of the 27 EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia, or Türkiye.
Subject to available funding, you can receive Erasmus+ funding for multiple stays abroad (incl. exchange semester, internship abroad, ENGAGE.EU activities, etc.), up to a maximum of 12 months per study cycle (e.g., bachelor's or master's).
Prerequisites & requirements
Application requirements:
Bachelor’s students must have completed 36 ECTS credits (excluding free electives) by the time of application.
Master’s students must be enrolled at WU Vienna by the time of application. For German-taught programs, the introductory/assessment course must have been completed.
Internship requirements:
Duration: Full-time (30+ hours per week) for at least 2 months (60 days).
On-site presence at the host organization is required.
The internship must be relevant to your field of study or offer clear educational value.
Internships can be done at any entrepreneurial organization, except:
EU institutions (e.g., European Commission)
Organizations managing EU programs (see list)
Further notes:
BBE and BAWISO (IBW) students can earn ECTS credits via an internship abroad and a related seminar (see info here).
CEMS internships are not eligible for Erasmus+ funding, as CEMS internships do not meet the requirement of earning at least 3 ECTS credits per month.

Financial information
The Erasmus+ grant is intended to cover part of the living expenses incurred during your stay abroad. The following monthly allowances apply:
