General information
The Erasmus+ grant provides financial support for degree program students who have been allocated an exchange semester spot at an Erasmus+ partner university in any of the 27 EU member states*, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Türkiye.
* Mobility to your country of origin is not allowed if you reside and primarily live in a neighboring country (including cross-border commuters).Please note: Students may receive the Erasmus+ grant subject to budget availability.
During your exchange semester, you must pay the Students’ Union (ÖH) dues to avoid disenrollment.
Subject to available funding, you can receive Erasmus+ funding for multiple stays abroad (incl. exchange semester, internship abroad, ENGAGE.EU activities, etc.), up to a maximum of 12 months per study cycle (e.g., bachelor's or master's).

Funding provisions for the academic year 2026/27
Based on the budget allocated to WU Vienna for the academic year 2026/2027, the following funding provisions will apply:
Double Degree students will receive an Erasmus+ grant for a period of max. 5,5 months.
All other students (incl. EPOG+) will receive an Erasmus+ grant for a period of max. 3,5 months.
Please note that no extensions of funding can be granted in the academic year 2026/2027.
Prerequisites & requirements
Duration: at least 2 full months (60 days).
Physical presence at the host institution is mandatory.
"No loss of progress" principle: Your stay abroad should not result in a loss of study time. You should aim to complete courses worth of 30 ECTS credits per semester. WU Vienna expects you to adhere to the partner university's requirements regarding the minimum and maximum number of courses.
Minimum academic achievement: To avoid repaying the Erasmus+ grant, you must transfer at least 3 ECTS credits* per month spent abroad towards your WU study program (e.g. for 4 months spent abroad, you need to transfer at least 12 ECTS credits as a curriculum-specific module at WU Vienna).
*If you will be working on your bachelor's or master's thesis during your exchange, a confirmation from your WU supervisor is required. Please contact us for more information.
Financial information
Erasmus+ grants are inteded to cover part of the living expenses that you incur during your exchange. The following monthly allowances apply for the academic year 2026/27:
