ISU WU 2020 - for WU Students

KEY FACTS:

- The ISUWU undergraduate program 2020 will be welcoming WU students who intended to apply for a Joint ISU as well as international students.

- The earned ECTS credits can be confirmed as part of the IBW international experience and/or can be transferred towards your curriculum.

- Participating WU students do not pay a program fee.

- The courses will be offered in a distance-learning format.

- The ISUWU Enrichment Program on "Virtual Exchange" will foster our students´ intercultural experience during the program.

-ISUWU Student's Package

- All students will receive an email about the outcome of their registration by the end of May. There will be no waiting lists or late nominations. Switching courses will not be possible.

Dates ISU WU 2020

You can choose to attend the July and/or the August session:

July session:
July 6 - July 24, 2020

August session:
July 27 - August 14, 2020

During each session you need to complete two courses which are taught consecutively over the duration of three weeks. After successful completion of one session of the summer program you will have earned 8 ECTS credits (or 16 ECTS credits for both, the July and the August session). These credits can be counted towards the IBW international experience and they can also be transferred to the WU program.

A) Course offers & course outlines

July Session 2020

Undergraduate Program July (July 6 - 24, 2020)

You need to pick two courses from the course list above: the first course from Course week 1-2 and the second course from Course week 2-3.

You have to complete the whole 3-week program (i.e. attend two consecutive courses) successfully in order to receive 8 ECTS credits.

Please note that the courses are switching to a distance learning format and therefore the course outlines will be continuously updated and adapted.

August Session 2020

Undergraduate Program August (July 27 - August 14, 2020)

If you choose the August program you have to participate in both courses: International Management (Course week 1-2) and International Marketing (Course week 2-3).

You need to complete both courses successfully in order to receive 8 ECTS credits.

Please note that the courses are switching to a distance learning format and therefore the course outlines will be continuously updated and adapted.

B) Registration information

Registration period: April 27 - May 15, 2020 (12 noon) 

Prerequisites for participation:

You can register for the ISUWU program as soon as you have completed courses worth at least 38 ECTS credits (excl. free electives).

Check online if you fulfill the requirements - To do so, please log in with your WU username and password.

Required documents:

The following documents have to be submitted during the online registration process:

  • One statement of purpose* stating your initial plans of attending a Joint ISU and explaining why you want to participate in the ISUWU program (in English, max. 1 page)

  • CV in English

  •  

*Please note that you need to upload your statement of purpose twice in case you want to participate in the July and in the August session (one for each program, you can use the same statement).

If the registration number should exceed our course capacities (approx. 30 students per course), WU will screen the submitted statements of purpose on the basis of students' key factors for participating in the ISUWU program.

Registration procedure:

Step 1: Log in to the online registration tool with your WU student ID number. Enter all the relevant information on the July and/or August session and courses you want to attend, your contact details, and degree program in the online registration form and submit it.

Step 2: Upload all the required documents. Please note that you have to upload your statement of purpose twice if you want to attend both sessions (July and August session). Read all the given information and submit your registration before the deadline. (registration period: April 27 - May 15, 2020, 12 noon)

Please note: One course or session can only take place though when there is a sufficient number of participants per course or session.

Individual bachelor's program students (e.g. IBW/Chinese):

Please send a request to the International Office (sarina.eckhard-gludovatz@wu.ac.at) to unlock the online registration tool for you. 

Cancellation terms:
Once you have been assigned a spot in the ISUWU summer program, cancellation is possible only in exceptional cases (illness, pregnancy, important family commitments, or unavoidable, unforeseen serious events). Appropriate proof will be required. If you cancel your participation without good cause, your are excluded from further participation in WU exchange programs (exchange semester, Joint ISUs and other summer programs) at your current degree level (bachelor’s level).

C) Credit transfer options and IBW international experience

After successful completion of one ISUWU session you will have earned 8 ECTS credits (16 ECTS credits if you complete both, the July and the August session). Credits obtained during the ISUWU program can be transferred to your curriculum and/or confirmed as part of the IBW international experience.
