Erasmus+ Internship

All WU students enrolled in a regular degree program who have arranged a full-time internship for a period of at least 2 full months and no more than 12 months in one of the 28 EU member countries or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the FYR of Macedonia, and Turkey are eligible to apply for an Erasmus+ internship grant.

General information

Eligible for a grant are WU students who have organized a full-time internship of at least 2 months and a maximum of 12 months in one of the 28 EU member states or in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia or Turkey.

There are two types of Eramus+ internships:

  • Student internship:
Students must be enrolled in a WU degree program for the entire duration of their internship and have at least one exam left to complete after the end of the internship.

  • Post-graduate internship:
Students must be enrolled at WU when applying and getting nominated for a grant, but must have completet their studies by the time the internship starts. The internship must be completed within 12 months after finishing their degree program and students may not be enrolled in any degree program during the entire internship.

  •

Student internships can be completed at any organization involved in business operations, except at EU institutions and organizations that manage EU programs.  Students can complete several Erasmus+ internships abroad with a duration of up to twelve months at each degree level (bachelor, master, and doctoral/PhD levels). In particular, internships in the category of "Digital Opportunity Traineeships", during which students or graduates can broaden their digital skills, are supported. More information can be found here.

International students can apply for a mobility grant for an internship in their home country, but these applications have the lowest priority in the selection process. Students cannot apply for internships in a neighboring country where they have their main place of residence (cross-border commuters).

Students must inform the International Office if they wish to apply for a mobility grant for an internship in their home country.

Further information is available on the OeAD homepage.
