International Office

Tasks

Internationalization is one of WU's main strategic priorities. The majority of WU students gains international experience through a stay abroad at one of our 240 partner universities, during an International Short Program or with an online exchange initiative.

The International Office reports to the Vice-Rector for Acadmic Programs and Student Affairs and is WU's central service unit for the coordination of international partnerships, networks, and programs.

Internationality and student mobility

About 1.000 WU outgoing students go on exchange every year and an approximately equal number of incoming international students are welcomed at WU every year. The International Office is the first point of contact for these students. We advise and support students on all questions before, during and after their stay abroad.

Staff and faculty mobility

WU faculty members and staff can participate in exchange programs, such as ERASMUS+ or CEEPUS.

International university networks and programs

WU gives its faculty and students access to a network of about 240 partner universities worldwide. The International Office is responsible for developing and supervising these international partnerships.

WU is member of the following associations: CEMS, PIM, GBSN, THEMIS, NEURUS.

WU and its members are active participants in the ERASMUS+ Program of the European Union (WU Erasmus Policy Statement & Erasmus Charter).

In addition, as coordinator of the CEEPUS network "Amadeus", WU has a strong cooperation network in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

International mobilities are promoted through worldwide partnerships and participation in programs like Fulbright.
