B) Application requirements
You can apply for an International Summer University as soon as you have completed courses worth at least 38 ECTS credits (excl. free electives).
You can check online if you fulfill the application requirements. To do so, please log in with your WU username and password.
Admission to a master’s program at WU.
C) Application documents
The following documents have to be submitted during the online application process. You can indicate up to 2 ISU preferences.
One motivation letter for each International Summer University (in English, max. 1 page, addressed to the academic team of the respective ISU or generally to “Dear ladies and gentlemen” or “Dear Sir/Madam”)
CV in English
Copy of your valid passport
Please note that only PDF files can be uploaded.
D) Application procedures and selection criteria for ISUs organized by WU and CUHK / SMU Summer Programs
Step 1: Log in to the online application tool with your WU student ID number. Enter all the relevant information on your preferences, contact details, and degree program in the online application form and submit it.
Step 2: Upload your application documents. Please note that you have to upload two motivation letters if you stated two preferences. Read the privacy disclaimer and information document and submit your application.
Step 3: Pre-selection for the respective International Summer University by the WU academic team based on your application documents.
Please note that the CUHK and SMU admission decision is based on the application documents only.
Step 4: Invitation to small group interviews for all Joint ISUs in March based on the pre-selection by the academic team. (exception: CUHK and SMU Summer Programs)
Joint ISU China: March 15, from 10:30 am, 2019 (tbc)
Joint ISU Indonesia: March 19, from 3 pm, 2019 (tbc)
Joint ISU Russia: March 21, from 9:30 am, 2019 (tbc)
Joint ISU Vietnam: March 14, from 12:30 pm, 2019 (tbc)
Face-to-face group interviews for all Joint ISUs will be conducted by the WU academic team and International Office staff members. Please note that you have to be present during the application interviews and that interviews via Skype are possible only in rare, exceptional cases.
Step 5: The International Office will notify applicants whether their application was successful or not.

Please note: Acceptance decisions for the CUHK and SMU summer programs will be based on the uploaded application documents only (= no interviews).
E) Important information and exceptional cases
Individual bachelor's program students (e.g. IBW/Chinese):
Students enrolled in individual bachelor’s programs generally do not have access to the online application tool for International Summer University programs. To gain access to the application tool, interested students have to send a request to the International Office (email@example.com).
Master’s students generally do not have access to the online application system for International Summer University programs. Interested master’s students have to send a request to the International Office (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As International Summer University programs are primarily addressed to bachelor’s students, credit transfer on master’s level cannot be guaranteed.
