In order to apply for the MSc in Marketing you have to fulfill all the requirements for application and demonstrate your aptitude for the program. Please note: If one or more of the required documents are not provided, your application will be rejected.
Minimum requirements for application
1. Relevant bachelor's program:
You need to have completed or be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program at a recognized Austrian or foreign post-secondary institution. To be considered relevant, the completed program has to meet the following criteria:
The program comprises at least 180 ECTS credits. 180 ECTS credits correspond to three academic years.
45 ECTS credits have to be earned by passing exams in the field of business administration.
The Bachelor Program in Business and Economics (BBE) at Vienna University of Economics and Business fulfills the prerequisites.
Please note: It is not necessary to have completed the relevant degree program at the time of application, proof of completion of your first-degree program is not required until actual enrollment. Nevertheless, the requirements listed above have to be documented by the uploaded documents.

1) WU alumni only:
The weighted grade point average (GPA) of all exams completed as part of the relevant WU study program (GPA of 2.5 or lower), at the time of application.
WU students can download the GPA confirmation as a PDF (see Tools & Services). If their GPA is above 2.5, WU alumni can still apply for the MSc Marketing program by submitting a GMAT with a total score of at least 500.
2) WU alumni only:
One letter of recommendation (English) written by a course teacher, an advisor or supervisor of an academic thesis, or the educational institution at which the course or courses were attended or the academic thesis was written, detailing your achievement potential.
3. Sufficient proficiency in English:
Note that only one of the listed options needs to apply:
English as your native language
Full bachelor's program done in English (at least three years, university confirmation required)
Full master's program done in English (at least two years, university confirmation required)
One of the following valid certificates (official or unofficial test report): TOEFL iBT 100 or higher, TOEFL IBT Home Edition 100 or higher, IELTS 7.0 or higher (academic or online indicator version), Cambridge English: CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English) or BEC Higher (Business English Certificate Higher), UNIcert III
A certificate from a university language center confirming the applicant has achieved level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The certificate has to prove that you took one or more tests to assess your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. These skills should correspond to level C1 or higher according to the CEFR. Course transcripts or confirmations about your overall language skills or certain language courses will NOT be accepted as proof of your language skills. If you are not sure whether your language certificate fulfills these criteria, please submit one of the standardized tests mentioned above.
Graduates of WU’s Bachelor's Program in Business and Economics, Bachelor's program in Business Law and Bachelor's Program in Business, Economics and Social Sciences already fulfill this requirement.
4. Important application documents:
Employers' references (English or German) from previous internships or jobs (if applicable)

Application and enrollment procedure
To apply for the MSc Marketing program, you can choose between 3 priority deadlines:
Priority deadlines I and II do NOT have a waiting list. You can only be put on the waiting list if you apply within priority deadline III. Further information on the three priority deadlines and the rolling admissions schedule can be found here.

How often can I apply?
You can apply before priority deadline I and, if you don't get in, you can apply again before priority deadline III (which is the only priority deadline with a waiting list). This increases your chances of receiving an admission offer.
|Information for international applicants (third-country nationals)|
|We strongly advise third-country nationals to apply before the 1st priority deadline at the beginning of October. Austrian visa procedures are complex and demanding. The visa process should be started as early as possible. Please note that WU cannot assist students in obtaining a visa.|
