It is now possible to submit the employee tax assessments (Arbeitnehmer*innenveranlagung - ANV) for the year 2025. You can find out about the advantages this can bring, how you can save taxes in this way, and what you need to do at the following information event or on the following information pages:

• The Vienna Chamber of Labour is hosting an online information event (in German) on the topic of the employee tax assessment on April 22, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. The event will explain how to submit the ANV, when it is mandatory, and what tax benefits can be taken into account in the course of the ANV. If you are interested, you can register until April 20, 2026, at the following link: https://veranstaltung.akwien.at/de/steuerlich-das-beste-machen-es-zahlt-sich-aus-28/registration. You will then receive the link to the livestream by email on the day of the event.

• For anyone who is unable to attend on April 22, the Austrian Chamber of Labour has published step-by-step instructions on how to submit the ANV via Finanzonline here (in German only).

• Further up-to-date and comprehensive information on the ANV can be found in the tax book  published by the Federal Ministry of Finance (available in English and German). The tax book also contains many practical tips and sample calculations.

• In addition, we have compiled an overview with specific information especially for WU’s scientific staff here (in English). The article was written in 2024, but all the information on the ANV is still up to date.

• To take full advantage of the tax assessment, it is important to keep all potentially relevant invoices (e.g., for work equipment, training courses, medical treatments, etc.) throughout the calendar year!
