Approaching the topic from a strategic leadership perspective, this course introduces students to digital transformation and the significant organizational shifts triggered by digital technologies and socio-technical changes. The curriculum is structured into two main parts, the first of which examines the characteristics and consequences of digital technologies and related phenomena such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, industrial platforms, marketplace and information platforms, online communities, crowds, smart manufacturing, and smart products. Additionally, participants are familiarized with the core features of digital change and how to effectively manage them. In the second part of the course, students apply these theoretical insights in group projects to address specific corporate tasks and challenges. Consequently, the course equips students with the skills to understand key digital technologies and their impact on management and society, conduct digital potential analyses, structure and implement digital transformation projects, and successfully collaborate within virtual or hybrid teams.
