In the first year, the bachelor’s degree program includes what we call the introductory and orientation phase (STEOP in German), followed by the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).

Starting in your third semester, you get to deepen your knowledge and specialize by choosing one of the five available majors.

Introductory and orientation phase (STEOP)

One of the first things you’ll learn is that there’s usually more than one answer. In Perspectives on Business, you’ll gain an overview of key aspects related to law, the social sciences, economics, the digital economy, and sustainable economics and business. In courses worth a total of 16 ECTS, you’ll develop a fundamental understanding of the scope of these fields and their interconnections.

Common Body of Knowledge (CBK)

In the CBK, you will develop a multi-perspective view of business and the economy that will be one of your key professional assets and that will shape your further education. In courses worth a total of 47 ECTS, you will learn the fundamentals of the principal subjects of the degree program, independent of your subsequent choice of major.

Majors

After completing the introductory and orientation phase and at least 20 ECTS worth of CBK courses, you can take one of the program’s five majors. This allows you to custom-tailor the program to suit your interests and pursue your individual priorities.
