Studies at WU Vienna for CEU students

Would you like to enrich your CEU studies? The cooperation between WU and CEU (Central European University) will allow you to attend one or two courses at WU parallelly to your regular studies at CEU.

Application requirements

The exchange is open for CEU students who are actively enrolled in one of the programs running at the CEU Vienna campus AND have completed at least one year of their full-time studies at the time of application.

Students can only apply for courses of their respective level: i.e. bachelor's students can only apply for bachelor-level courses.

If your application has been successful:

  • You will be contacted by the WU Incoming Team regarding course registration and further details.

  • You will need to enrol at WU's Admissions Office in person.

IMPORTANT: CEU students must pay student union dues at WU too. These can be reimbursed by ÖH directly because of double payment at CEU. 

Enrolment at WU

How to enrol at WU’s Admissions Office:

  1. Enter your personal data into the online admission form and choose the non-degree program.

  2. Make an appointment at WU’s Admissions Office. You will find the opening hours and the location here.

  3. Bring the following original documents:

    • Valid passport or EU national identity card – driver’s license is not accepted!

    • CEU student ID card

    Course offer

    WU offers CEU students the possibility to attend courses in the areas of Economics and Socioeconomics at a bachelor and master level.

    CEU-PhD students and very advanced CEU master-level students may attend courses from WU’s Doctoral Program in the areas of Economics & Finance if the respective course instructors agree.

    The current available courses list can be found here. It is only allowed to attend a maximum of two courses at WU.

    The syllabi and the timetables for the respective courses will become available on January 19 for the summer semester 2026. You can check them in our course catalogue here. Please note that you can only take courses from the available courses list above.

    Make sure that WU’s course offer meets your needs and interests and that you fulfill the pre-requisites for the course(s) you would like to attend.

    Course preferences and registration

    Once your application has been accepted and you have successfully enrolled at WU’s Admissions Office, you will have to fill in the course preference form and indicate 1 – 3 course preferences.

    Application for your course preferences is open from 20 – 25 January. After the deadline, WU will register CEU students for courses based on the submitted course preferences online form AND on availability.

    Credit Transfer

    At the end of the study term at WU, students download their official transcript of records on their own at OSS. This will be necessary for the credit transfer process at CEU.

    The transcript will be ready once the ECTS credits have been added by our Examinations Office. If your ECTS are still missing, please contact the Examinations Office at pruefungsorganisation@wu.ac.at.
