Type: Tutorial

Format: Online

Duration: 1,5 h

Target group: Teachers, people involved in teaching

You open your course in Canvas and ask yourself: 'How can I structure the course content clearly?' How can I create assignments or group work? And what does it look like from the students' perspective? This tutorial will provide you with a concise overview of the fundamental course design possibilities offered by Canvas. We will show you how to organise your learning content efficiently before the start of the semester to ensure a clear, optimal course structure.

Content:

  • Provide and structure course documents using folders

  • Create individual and group assignments in which students enter text or upload files

  • Design interactive learning content in the form of quizzes with different question types (e.g., multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and more)

  • Create and fill content pages

  • Use modules for the structured presentation of course content such as files, content pages, assignments, and quizzes

  • Use materials across semesters and share them easily with colleagues
