QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021

WU is represented in the category Social Sciences & Management in five subjects and is pleased with these good results.

In the field of Business & Management Studies, WU is the only Austrian university to be ranked among the top 50 international universities, coming in at 42nd place. In Finance & Accounting, WU is among the top 100 (91st place), and came in at 108th place in Economics & Econometrics. WU is also represented in Computer Sciences & Information Systems (group 351–400) and Law (151–200). “These results show that WU has an excellent international reputation, both in academia and the business world, and that WU is highly competitive internationally in business and management research,” says Rector Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger.

About the QS Rankings

The QS World University Rankings by Subject rank universities in five general disciplines (Arts and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences; Social Sciences and Management) and over 50 individual subjects. The ranking is based on four indicators:  In addition to two surveys of a total of 150,000 people worldwide, one focusing on academics and one on employers, the rankings also look at the quality of academic publications, citation data, and impact.
