Management of the administrative staff

Every semester, Organizational & Talent Development publishes a new continuing education program for all WU employees. In addition to the events for general/academic staff, the program also offers special courses on a wide range of leadership-related topics. In short leadership focuses or 1-day workshops, you have the opportunity to work intensively and in a highly practice-oriented manner in small groups on areas relevant to your leadership activities. Participation is free of charge and takes place during your working hours. 

We currently offer leadership focuses and workshops on the following topics specifically to support you in your role as a manager (for offers without dates, a joint date search will follow after registration):

• Führungs-Fokus: Warum gute Arbeit einen anderen Umgang mit Zeit braucht

  Mo., 20. Oktober 2025, 11.00 – 13.00 Uhr

• Führungs-Fokus: Neurodiversität als Stärke: Autismus-Spektrum in der Arbeitswelt

  Do., 20. November 2025, 9.30 – 11.30 Uhr

• Feedback to Go: Feedback und Feedbackkultur im universitären Arbeitsumfeld – für alle, die Führung praxisnah und wirkungsvoll gestalten möchten

  offen, 1 Tag, 9.00 – 17.00 Uhr

• Führen an der WU kompakt: Das Mitarbeiter*innengespräch
  nach Vereinbarung, einstündige Veranstaltung

• Leadership at WU in a Nutshell: The Appraisal Review
  by arrangement, one-hour event

We invite you to help shape the topics of the workshops for managers. Through your daily work, you know best which skills and tools you need most as a manager at WU. If you have any requests for specific workshop topics, Dipl.-Kfm. Alexander Mingst looks forward to your call (DW 4350) or your e-mail (Alexander.Mingst@wu.ac.at).

Registration and deregistration

To enable as many of you as possible to participate, we usually first collect expressions of interest by registration via our event management platform my.km, where you can register online using your WU ID. Use the filters to find suitable events. Then click on the title of the respective workshop and on “Anmelden” at the bottom of the page with the workshop description. We will then search for dates together with all those who have registered. Of course, you can also register for a workshop whose date has already been set.

Alternatively, you will find a list of all events specifically for managers of general/scientific staff this semester. The links will also take you to our  event management platform my.km where you can register.

If you are unable to attend after all, please deregister free of charge under “My events” before the deregistration deadline (two weeks before the event). After the deregistration deadline, please cancel your registration by sending an email to personalentwicklung@wu.ac.at. If you cancel your registration after the deadline or if you do not attend, you will have to pay a cancellation fee of EUR 50 per event.
