Staff Exchanges | Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, deadline: 8 October 2025

This funding opportunity fosters international, inter-sectoral, and interdisciplinary cooperation by promoting the exchange of personnel between institutions. Projects build on existing networks and aim to deepen scientific collaborations. The program supports researchers and non-research staff, providing training and career development opportunities. A consortium of at least three institutions from different countries applies for funding, with a focus on international and intersectoral exchanges.

European Researchers' Night and Researchers at Schools 2026-2027, deadline: 22 October 2025

MSCA and Citizens: This initiative aims to raise public awareness about science and research through events like the European Researchers' Night and Researchers at Schools. These activities foster interaction between researchers and citizens, highlight the importance of scientific knowledge, and inspire young people to pursue science careers. The program supports events and encourages local, regional, or national collaboration to reach broad audiences.

New calls for proposals under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) programme 

This programme aims to protect and promote Union rights and values as outlined in the EU Treaties and the Charter of Fundamental Rights. It contributes to sustaining and further developing open, democratic, equal, and inclusive societies based on the rule of law, ensuring the continuation of fundamental rights and freedoms across the EU.

The DOC Fellowship Programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences offers funding for highly qualified doctoral candidates in all areas of research. The fellowships are intended to allow young researchers to dedicate themselves to working in focused fashion to complete their doctoral thesis within a clear timeframe. 

Laura Bassi: Shaping a future of equal opportunities – 3^rd Call, deadline: 25 April 2025

The call is aimed specifically at organisations (especially SMEs) shaping equal opportunities future by taking one or more diversity dimensions into account. Funding is available for specific innovation projects (products, processes, services) in a network of several consortium members (at least 3 companies OR 2 other non-economic organisations and at least 1 SME; max. funding per project: 500,000 euros, max. duration: 3 years).

Mission Climate Neutral City - Mobilisation and Networking Measures for Austrian Cities, deadline: 08 April 2025

The call for proposals ‘Mission Climate Neutral City - Mobilisation and Networking Measures for Austrian Cities’ creates an overarching framework for networking urban stakeholders to develop innovative solutions. The aim is to support ambitious cities in identifying and naming common, municipal transformation challenges, deriving and communicating any RTI requirements (max. funding amount: 400,000 euros, funding rate max. 85%, duration: 2-3 years).

• WU-OeNB-Internationalization Grant, deadline: 30 June 2025
  The objective of this grant is to encourage internationalization at WU by facilitating long-term research stays abroad for WU faculty members.

• WU City of Vienna Best Paper Award, deadline: 31 March 2025
  The WU City of Vienna Best Paper Award is a distinction awarded to the best articles published in the previous year.

• WU Revision Funds
  In order to support researchers with requirements in the course of the publication process, a financial grant for necessary revisions (e.g. data collection, copy editing or data visualization) is provided as part of the WU Revision Funds. Only costs incurred in the course of a clearly defined revision requirement for publications in journals on the WU-wide Star Journal List and A-ranked journals in department-specific lists can be submitted for this grant. 

• Bonus to cover caretaking costs during business travel
  WU would like to support researchers with caretaking responsibilities or care needs. Caretaking responsibilities or care needs include not only childcare, but also the care of spouses or partners in need of constant care or the care of elderly parents or grandparents.
