This was the Long Night of Research 2024 at WU

On May 24, WU opened its doors for the Long Night of Research and invited everyone to explore WU’s research activities.

Every two years, universities and research institutions throughout Austria open their doors during one special evening: They invite visitors to discover and explore what they do and give them food for thought – all free of charge. And, of course, WU was also part of this event once again and offered a varied program with public lectures on artificial intelligence, hands-on social science experiments and interactive games and quizzes.

Despite the heavy downpours shortly before and during the event, the event was well attended and the atmosphere was excellent. At the research stations, visitors were able to try out eye-tracking devices and face-reader technology, learn how possessions shape us and how inequality arises – and explore the growth markets of the future and new approaches to sustainability in quizzes.
