Lecture with interactive elements (VUE)

The lecture with interactive elements (VUE) combines elements of the course examination (LVP) and the continuous assessment course (PI). It offers the ideal framework for interactive teaching formats, e.g. with a lecture and an exercise section.

The following applies to VUEs:

  • Reduced attendance requirement

  • At least 2 performance components are used for the assessment.

  • Typical performance components include homework and/or mid-term and final examinations.

  • The overall grade in a lecture with interactive elements is calculated from the individual performance components, which are weighted differently and together form the final grade.

  • If a performance component (on its own) is decisive for a positive assessment, you can make up for it if there is a valid reason (e.g. illness with a medical certificate).

  • If you have achieved at least 10% of the points for a decisive performance component, it is possible to repeat this component within the same course.

Please inform yourself carefully before the start of the course in the course catalog, where you will find all the details on the attendance requirement, the performance components, their weighting and grading.
