MyMatch

MyMatch is an algorithm-based preference system for allocating students to specializations and complementary subjects. It takes into account your preferences, the rankings of the specialization coordinators and the available places and creates a fair and transparent allocation.

A digital "agent" works in the background to calculate the best possible allocation for each student.

MyMatch works according to the following principle:

  • The agent treats your preferences as a direct instruction and first tries to assign you to your highest-ranked specialization.

  • If there is no spot available for you there, the agent checks the next preference and automatically considers the suitable options that become available later.

  • This process will continue until a possible allocation is found, depending on the available capacities.

  • You will receive the best possible allocation that is possible under the given conditions. There is no "better swap" that would be more advantageous for both sides.

  • All students will be informed of the result of the matching phase at the same time. If you do not receive an assessment, an allocation via the progression quota will be considered.

What you should know about MyMatch..

  • You don't have to rank your registrations strategically - honest preferences are optimal. The agent works on your behalf.

  • Your preference ranking is confidential. Specializations will not know where you have ranked them. You can therefore rank honestly without harming your chances.

  • Your inputs will be taken into account directly in the allocation process.

  • You will receive the best possible allocation available.

  • All results will be published at the same time.

What MyMatch cannot do

  • MyMatch cannot allocate a place if the capacity has already been used up and all available places have been allocated to higher-ranking applicants.

  • MyMatch cannot change the number of available places. However, the system ensures that all available places are allocated optimally.
