Vienna Innovation Program 2026

27/05/2026

The VIP 2026 with international partner universities took place at the WU Campus

The Vienna Innovation Program (VIP), bringing together WU students alongside participants from international partner universities across the globe (with an emphasis on North America), was once again successfully held from May 11th to May 22nd, 2026, at the WU campus. The program offered a highly engaging and enriching setting that combined academic excellence, practical collaboration, and cultural exchange in a unique international setting.

Throughout the two-week VIP program, students participated in a mix of classroom lectures, interactive discussions, and collaborative learning sessions led by the academic team. The curriculum explored a broad range of highly relevant and contemporary innovation topics (including design thinking & lean start-up, open and user innovation, the role of AI for innovation, the role of social networks for innovation), encouraging participants to critically engage with current trends, emerging challenges, and forward-looking business concepts. In addition to the academic component, students worked intensively in international teams on the development of innovative business ideas, allowing them to apply theoretical insights in a practical and creative environment while strengthening their intercultural teamwork and problem-solving skills.

The program was further enriched by a series of guest lectures delivered by leading practitioners and industry experts (Karl Edlbauer – Co-Founder of Hokify, Paul Weinberger – VC Expert, Julian Arnowski – AI Expert, Christoph Jung – Top Executive at Hamilton) , who shared valuable real-world perspectives and professional experiences from the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. These sessions provided students with meaningful insights into current industry practices and future developments, further complementing the academic content of the program.

Alongside the educational activities, participants also enjoyed a diverse and thoughtfully curated extracurricular program that gave them the opportunity to immerse themselves in Vienna’s unique cultural atmosphere and vibrant social life. These activities, once again excellently organized by WU’s International Office, contributed significantly to fostering international exchange, networking, and memorable experiences among students from different cultural and academic backgrounds.
