Betty Ahwera

Betty Ahwera comes from Uganda. She received her bachelor’s degree in commerce with specialization in accounting from Makerere University, Uganda and gained her MSc in international oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee in Scotland, UK. She also received a Certificate in Energy Technology Economics and Management from IFP School, Paris. She is both a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Uganda and is also an affiliate of the Advanced Diploma in International Tax (ADIT) and tutors students pursuing ADIT, with a focus on Energy Resources. She has nine years of experience at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and is currently working with the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) in South Africa, as a Transfer Pricing Specialist. In this role, she supports African tax administrations through capacity building, tax policy development, and contributions to international standard setting initiatives. Betty is passionate about tennis and travelling.
