"WU Stories of Impact"-project looks at the societal impacts of WU’s research

06/07/2018

The WU’s research activities are a valuable contribution to the solution of current challenges with regard to the economy, society, the environment, culture, and politics. As a public institution, and one of Austria’s most important research institutes, the WU contributes to shaping society and the economy.

The project “Stories of Impact” aims to gather and show the role the WU takes up in society and the effects it has on societal development. The project is being implemented by Florian Findler and Caroline Nwafor from the Institute for Managing Sustainability.

The diverse and far-reaching research activities will be presented in the form of case studies – the so-called “Stories of Impact”. The results will be compiled in a brochure, which will be published early next year.

An international board of experts is responsible for the selection and quality assurance of the ‘Stories of Impact. The Board, which met for the first time on July 5th, is made up of the following experts:

  • Prof. Dr. <link en finance people faculty stefan-pichler>Stefan Pichler (Vice-Rector for Research, Vienna University of Economics and Business)

  • Dr. Klaus Schuch (Scientific Director and CEO, Centre for Social Innovation).

  • a.Prof. Dr. <link sustainability ueber-uns team>André Martinuzzi (Head of the Institute for Managing Sustainability, Vienna University of Economics and Business ).
