US-Students Visited our Institute and the Federal Computing Center (BRZ)

On April 7th, 2014, 34 postgraduate students and Prof. Weistroffer from Virginia Commonwealth University visited our faculty.

On April 7th, 2014, 34 postgraduate students and Prof. Weistroffer from Virginia Commonwealth University visited our faculty. In the morning, Prof. Bernroider officially opened the visit with warm welcome words, followed by a speech, held by Mag. Lukas Hefner from ZAS, about the universities’ current facts and future directions. The introduction was closed by Mathias Frey from IT Services presenting actual innovative IT solutions supporting our staff and students. Afterwards, our guests were guided around the new WU Campus, enjoying the architectural sights. In the afternoon, the federal computing center (BRZ) was visited, which was introduced by Mag. Bodiroza, who presented the server rooms of the federal computing center. Continuing the tour, our guests visited the central management department for IT Service Management, discussing the most important measures to enhance quality of IT-Services. The last agenda item was guided by Mag. Piswanger (E-Governance Expert), who explained the current projects in the field of E-Governance, in particular, on the duties of the federal computing agency.
