The WU Gender and Diversity (online) Conference 2022

24/03/2022

Diversity Management and Intersectionality in a Global Context

In 2002, Professor Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger introduced a new course at the WU: Gender and Diversity in Organizations. Two years later, in 2004, the Institute for Gender and Diversity in Organizations was founded.

Since then, the interest in the topic never stopped growing, be it in the academic field or in the practices in and of organizations. We certainly have come a long way, but so much more needs to be done.

It all started 20 years ago, and this is what we want to celebrate with The WU Gender and Diversity Conference in March 2022 (held via Zoom).

We count on the participation of over 30 speakers who represent an international group of academics and practitioners.

Topics to be discussed include but are not limited to:

  • Intersectional experiences. What have we learnt from these?

  • Emerging theories

  • Evolutions in practice

  • Experiences and lessons from the global south

  • Minorities’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion

  • The role of diversity and inclusion in SDGs

  • Discrimination and inclusion in the age of digitalization
