Many E&I researchers utilize the semester holidays to focus on their research and attend various conferences and workshops. From 29th of July to 16th of August, E&I Marie Curie PhD fellow Linn Kretzschmar attended a summer school organized by the London School of Economics and Politics (LSE) on data science and machine learning. During her time in London, Linn gained valuable knowledge in the field of coding, big data and artificial intelligence benefiting both her research and methodological skills. By encouraging and supporting its researchers  to acquire new knowledge and skills, the E&I institute is able to further expand its expertise and venture into highly relevant fields such as big data analytics and thus, stay state-of-the-art in research.
