Michael Wolfesberger wins Best Doctoral Thesis Proposal Award at the 47th EIBA (2021) annual conference in Madrid.

Michael Wolfesberger, Teaching & Research Associate at the Institute for International Business, won the award for his doctoral thesis proposal titled “Configuring and restructuring the foreign investment portfolio”

The European International Business Academy (EIBA) held its 47th Annual Meeting in Madrid this December (2021). It is the largest and most important European conference focused on International Business. With the theme “Firms, Innovation and Location: Reshaping International Business for Sustainable Development in the Post-Pandemic Era”, the conference aimed to discuss how local actions can be applied to global solutions and flows of information to and from the IB community. The Best Doctoral Thesis Proposal Award is presented to the best dissertation proposal presented at the EIBA / EIASM John H. Dunning Doctoral Tutorial in International Business, which traditionally takes place on Friday before the official conference start. Michael was recognized for his doctoral proposal titled “Configuring and restructuring the foreign investment portfolio”, which analyzes how MNCs adjust their international portfolio of subsidiaries in response to institutional and political changes.
