EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

10% of Austrians working population are unsatisfied with their current job and 50% rate their job satisfaction as only moderate, but people struggle to change their situation as there are many uncertainties coming along with a new job.

Happy Job simplifies career coaching in form of an app. Through gamified tasks, it helps to find a job vision, to overcome fears and gives tips and tricks for the application process. If further coaching is needed, in-person coaching can be booked through the app and personal coaching can be attended at any time during the process. Through all that coaching is made easily accessible, users can work on their dream job at any time and from anywhere.

The Happy Job App does not only bring advantages for the users but also for the coaches since they do not need to work on customer acquisition anymore. As everything takes place online it is easy for them to combine it with any other job.

On top of that, with the professionally made tasks of the Happy Job App occupational change becomes way cheaper than with regular career coaching.

Goal

The goal of this project was to write a complete and professional business plan for the start-up Happy Job and present the results in form of a presentation to the founder.

However, as the idea of the start-up was not fully developed yet, the team had to figure out the goal of the project and then implement it in form of an app, which many users would be willing to use. Therefore, the team did a lot of research on the market in general. Based on those facts and figures, one of the primary objectives was to make the occupational change process as simple, affordable, and successful as possible for all potential customers.

Methodology

Such a large and complex venture required a variety of approaches and methodologies tailored to the different aspects of the endeavor. Especially at the beginning the team concentrated exclusively on secondary research in order to get the best possible overview of the customer needs, possibilities to satisfy those and the market.

Additionally, during the project the team also used other methods to obtain more information. Among other things, an expert interview and a survey were conducted. Based on the results the team created the financial plan and estimated the consumers' willingness to pay in order to validate the feasibility and potential of the start-up.

Results

The results of this project are an integrated business plan and presentation containing all relevant information for the development of the Happy Job App. Additional materials are logo designs, as well as pitches and a pitch slide.
